Cards Post of the Week – June 17 through 23

Recognizing the very best post of the past week from our message board community of thousands of St. Louis Cardinals fans the world over.

As we do each and every week here at, we call out the best of the best - the "Post of the Week" from our Cardinals message board, this time for the week ending Saturday, June 23.

Here is the link to the Message Boards, of which there are several – for fantasy players, insider information for subscribers, general topics, non-Cardinals sports and more.

Our winner from two weeks ago, "BeauHeart", provided an excellent snapshot of the remaining top Cardinals players from the 2007 draft who remain unsigned in the thread called "6 to go (2007 draft)".

One of the subject areas that set this community apart from many others across Cardinals Nation is their interest in and knowledge of the minor league system. Such an example is the thread on "Top 100 Prospect Candidates". "fpslackers" began the discussion, listing about a dozen players, with the cases for each. Others joined in, including "fewgoodcards", who offered up a group of players who might be moved off the list to make room for the surging Cardinals.

Last week's top thread "To Rebuild or Not to Rebuild" continued into a second week. Partway down page two, "BW23" provided a detailed analysis on possible players the Cardinals might trade, why and what types of players they could consider targeting.

As I noted earlier, the passion shown toward the Cardinals system is clearly evident throughout the board. Eyewitness accounts are especially valued by those who cannot see the minor league affiliates in person. Such an example was offered by "Sawatski", who gave us all a detailed scouting report on the Springfield club here: "Springfield Cardinals – June 19".

Because of that informative post and the grateful response of other members, "Sawatski" is our weekly winner of the "Post of the Week". As such, "Sawatski" collects a free four-week subscription to and all the other great sites in the network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
