The Memphis Redbirds hit five home runs Wednesday but still lost to Albuquerque 12-7.
Redbirds starter Blake Hawksworth took the loss, his record falling to a dismal 3-10 on the season.

Springfield Cardinals (Double-A): Winners 10-2 over Midland
Cardinals' starter Eric Haberer (W, 6-4) earned the win after giving up two runs, one earned, on five hits and three walks with one strikeout over 5.2 innings.
Left-fielder Mark Shorey went 2-for-5 Wednesday, hitting two homers and driving in six runs.

Palm Beach Cardinals (High-A): Postponed
Wednesday's Florida State League game between Palm Beach and Vero Beach was postponed due to rain at Holman Stadium.

Quad Cities could only muster four hits, leaving five runners stranded in yesterday's shutout loss to the Clinton Lumberkings.

Johnson City Cardinals (R) Lost to Elizabethton 6-5 in 11
Reliever Mark Diapoules had a blown save and was tagged with the loss Wednesday, giving up four runs on five hits.
