Cards Post of the Week – July 29 thru Aug. 4

Recognizing the very best post of the past week from our message board community of thousands of St. Louis Cardinals fans the world over.

As we do each and every week here at, we call out the best of the best - the "Post of the Week" from our Cardinals message board, this time for the week ending Saturday, August 4.

Here is the link to the Message Boards, of which there are several – for fantasy players, insider information for subscribers, general topics, non-Cardinals sports and more.

Poster "haltz" spiced up a thread about an important event, "The Deadline". On page five, he offered well-thought-out ideas about what the Cardinals' trade posture might be and why.

"West123" began a pair of threads looking at the Cardinals present and upcoming options with the first one based on the standings. In "Brass Tacks, Part I: The present", that initial post led to a lively discussion.

On page two of the companion thread, "Brass Tacks, Part II: The future", "SouthpawRighty" reminds us that lessons learned in 2006 might be applied to 2007.

"Chien Ming Wang Vs WainWright and Reyes Part Dieu" is a reprise of a 2006 argument about the relative potential offered by two Cardinals and one Yankees starter. "highrent" provides a sabermetric-based analysis to help explain Chien-Ming Wang's mound success.

"Early Returns on the 2007 Draft" was a thread initiated by "fpslackers" where capsule reviews of a number of the Cardinals' 2007 draftees were offered up. Of course, some agreed, while others posted their own assessments, too.

Near the bottom of page two on a three-page thread called, "ENOUGH", "GoCrazyFolks" tells us not to. GCF injected a realistic view of the trade/contact status of three core Cardinals players, Jim Edmonds, Scott Rolen and Jason Isringhausen.

As a result, "GoCrazyFolks" is our weekly winner of the "Post of the Week". "GoCrazyFolks" collects a free four-week subscription to and all the other great sites in the network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
