Quad Cities' starter Tyler Herron gave up just one run on three hits and three walks while striking out four to pick up his 10th win of the season Wednesday

Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A): Lost to Portland 11-4

Center fielder Rick Ankiel who had been nursing a calf injury was back in the lineup Wednesday night and went 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in the 11-4 loss to Portland.

Starter Mike Parisi (L, 6-10) gave up five runs on six hits over six innings for his 10th loss. Reliever Troy Cate was shelled for six runs in the eighth inning which didn't help matters.

Springfield Cardinals (Double-A): Lost to the Missions 12-8

Starter Adam Daniels didn't make it out of the third inning giving up seven run on seven hits, two of them home runs and a walk.

Fan favorite Cody Haerther went 3-for-5 with three doubles and an RBI and a run scored.

Palm Beach Cardinals (High-A): Lost to Dunedin 13-3

The Cardinals suffered an embarrassing 13-3 loss to Dunedin Wednesday.

Starter Adam Ottavino (L, 10-4) gave up four runs on five hits while striking out five in 6.1 innings, before the bullpen gave up nine more runs.

Third baseman Allen Craig went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, his 18th, and two RBI.

Swing of Quad Cities (A): Winners over Dayton 5-2

Starter Tyler Herron (W, 10-5) gave up just one run on three hits and three walks while striking out four to pick up his 10th win of the season. Herron has just one loss in his last 14 starts. Kenneth Maiques pitched a perfect ninth frame to notch his 25th save.

Designated hitter Nick Derba went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI to lead the Swing offense.

STEVEN HILL WATCH: 3-for-3 with an RBI, a walk and a run scored. Hill is now hitting .369 for Quad Cities.

Batavia Muckdogs (SS) Lost to Hudson Valley 8-4

Hudson Valley doubled up on Batavia Wednesday 8-4.

Starter Pete Parise (L, 3-2) gave up four runs on five hits in just 2.2 innings to get tagged with the loss.

First baseman Andrew Brown had a big night, going 2-for-4 to include a two-run homer, finishing the night with three RBI and naturally a run scored.

TYLER HENLEY WATCH: 1-for-3, with an RBI and a walk. The Cardinals eighth round pick in this year's draft is currently hitting .364 for Batavia.

Johnson City Cardinals (R) Lost Two to Elizabethton

The Cardinals finally lost the game to the Elizabethton Twins that was suspended in the fifth on July 24 with Johnson City holding a narrow 1-0 lead. The Twins scored seven runs in the seventh to beat the Redbirds.

The Twins beat the Cardinals 5-2 in the second game.

PETE KOZMA WATCH: The Cardinals top draft pick this year went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and is currently hitting just .222 for Johnson City.
