Cards Post of the Week – August 12 through 18

Recognizing the very best post of the past week from our message board community of thousands of St. Louis Cardinals fans the world over.

As we do each and every week here at, we call out the best of the best - the "Post of the Week" from our Cardinals message board, this time for the week ending Saturday, August 18.

Here is the link to the Message Boards, of which there are several – for fantasy players, insider information for subscribers, general topics, non-Cardinals sports and more.

Last week's winner, "redbirdinsight", came through again in the thread with the title "Kevin Kennedy says Yadier is best catcher in baseball". The ensuing discussion was enlightened substantially by a reminder both of what catchers have to face everyday as well as some of the merits of both Molina and prospect Bryan Anderson.

Our popular game threads, where readers daily comment on happenings while they happen during the game as well as afterward, are well worth checking out. Predictably, Thursday's discussion, coming off a series sweep of Milwaukee, was especially lively. On page 11 (that's right, eleven!), readers AfWilli255 and cpebbles each made some excellent comments about the Cubs and Cardinals rotations (former) and a position player by player comparison (latter) Here is the link: "game thread 8/16".

A busy discussion this past week centered around "What to do with Encarnacion". A number of folks want to send the Cardinals right fielder packing, while others see his value. On page two of the thread, "TheUFan" offered up some ideas on the futures of Encarnacion as well as several other Cardinals veterans.

Finally, our winner this week is "SoonerinNC" who made a magnificent post, sharing research on the results of the Cardinals drafts from 2000 through 2007 here: "Cardinal Drafts 00-07". I urge you to read this detailed information and take it in.

As a result, "SoonerinNC" is our weekly winner of the "Post of the Week". "SoonerinNC" collects a free four-week subscription to and all the other great sites in the network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
