Cards Post of the Week – Sept. 30 thru Oct. 6

Recognizing the very best post of the past week from our message board community of thousands of St. Louis Cardinals fans the world over.

As we do each and every week here at, we call out the best of the best - the "Post of the Week" from our Cardinals message board, this time for the week ending Saturday, October 6.

Here is the link to the Message Boards, of which there are several – for fantasy players, insider information for subscribers, general topics, non-Cardinals sports and more.

There is no doubt that the biggest news in The Cardinal Nation last week was the sudden sacking of Walt Jocketty as the team's general manager less than 12 months after his club won the World Series. The thread entitled "Jocketty out as GM" is nine pages now and running strong. On page three, "KylMss" defends the move and two pages later, last week's winner, "SoonerinNC" put the decision into solid historical perspective.

A thread about an impending free agent that doesn't fit the Cardinals from a position or payroll perspective, Atlanta's Andruw Jones, morphed into a wide-ranging discussion that is still going. One page one of "Andruw Jones Available", "highrent" and "easton714" each had a pair of standout posts. "highrent" looked at Jones, while "easton" considered other alternatives. On page two, "SoonerinNC" was back again, explaining why the Cardinals shouldn't make centerfield a priority and on page four, "thejager" identified his list of moves the Cardinals should make this off-season.

"highrent" continued an impressive showing on our top post list this past week. In the thread "Chris Antonetti", "highrent" offered four different posts on page one alone discussing the backgrounds of several potential general manager candidates, bringing this article back to where it started.

As a result, "highrent" is our latest winner of the "Post of the Week" award. In recognition, "highrent" collects a free four-week subscription to and all the other great sites in the network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
