Cards Post of the Week – Oct. 14 through 20

Recognizing the very best post of the past week from our message board community of thousands of St. Louis Cardinals fans the world over.

As we do each and every week here at stlcardinals.scout.com, we call out the best of the best - the "Post of the Week" from our Scout.com Cardinals message board, this time for the week ending Saturday, October 20.

Here is the link to the Message Boards, of which there are several – for fantasy players, insider information for subscribers, general topics, non-Cardinals sports and more.

This is the time of the year fans thoughts are filled with trade ideas. Often, those kinds of threads are unrealistic and therefore, not worth consideration. However, this discussion is different: "Formula for Success in 2008". A number of posters had interesting ideas, including "easton714", "Flyer914", thread starter "fpslackers", "thejager" and more.

On page two of the thread called "Worst Trades of All Time", a number of very informative posts were offered, including those by "jmodene1" and "SoonerinNC".

This week's winner was a thread started by "CariocaCardinal" in which the decision factors that the Cardinals (or any team) might take into account when considering whether or not to protect a prospect from the Rule 5 draft are quantified. The result is a numeric score for each player. Check out the discussion here: "40 man roster -- a formula for who to protect for Rule 5 draft".

For starting this interesting subject, "CariocaCardinal" is our latest winner of the "Post of the Week" award. In recognition, he collects a free four-week subscription to stlcardinals.scout.com and all the other great sites in the Scout.com network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
