Venezuelan Parallel League

 

Jose Contreras (Palm Beach-release) 1-for-4 with 1 run and 1 strike out.

 

Jose Martinez (Springfield) 1-for-3 with 1 walk and 1 strike out.

Javier Avendano (July 2nd signing) pitched 1 inning of relief, giving up 3 hits, 1 run (unearned), and striking out 1. (inherited runners-scored: 1-1)

 

Jose Penaloza (VSL) pitched 2 innings of relief, giving up 1 hit, no runs, 1 walk, and striking out 2. (g/o-f/o: 3-1)

 

Miguel Lopez (VSL) pitched 1 innings of relief, giving up no hits or runs, 1 walk, and striking out 1. (g/o-f/o: 1-1)

Dan Nelson (Palm Beach) 5 games, 5-for-18 with 1 HR, 1 double, 3 RBI's, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 6 strike outs.

 

Shane Robinson (Palm Beach) 2 games, 2-for-9 with 1 strike out.

 

Gustavo Martinez (GCL) 2 games, 4.1 innings, giving up 4 hits, 2 runs (all earned), 1 HR, 1 walk (intentional), and 2 strike outs.

All-Star Game Results from 12/9:

 

Amaury Marti (Springfield) batted 3rd in the lineup, going 1-for-2 with 1 strike out.

 

Luke Gorsett (Palm Beach) entered the game in the 5th inning, going 2-for-2 with 2 RBI's and 1 run.

 

Both Gorsett and Marti played for Estrellas Extranjares. Gorsett seemed set to receive the MVP for the game, but another player knocked in a run in the 9th to tie the game and he took home the award instead.
