Cardinals Minors Spring Training Report: 3/14

Friday's St. Louis Cardinals minor league spring training game results.

On Friday, the St. Louis Cardinals' Triple-A and Double-A teams were home against the Dodgers' affiliates while two of the Single-A teams ventured up to Vero to play their LA counterparts. There was also an extra game at Jupiter against Oakton Community College.


Memphis and Springfield travel to Port St. Lucie to meet the Mets on Saturday while the A-ball teams stay home. There is another extra game scheduled against Gildea's Raiders, a traveling club.



Memphis defeated Las Vegas, 7-2

Adam Ottavino (start) 3 IP, 1 hit, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K's

Jon Mikrut (win), 2.0 IP, 0 hits, walks or runs, 1 K

Luke Gregerson - 2 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K's (warmed up to pitch in Thursday's MLB game after having been called over from the minor league fields)

Mark Worrell struck out the side, no runners

Nick Stavinoha 3-for-5, HR (poised for a comeback season?)

Reid Gorecki, Cody Haerther each had two hits, a double and 2 RBI's (ditto?)

Rico Washington - 2-for-4 with a walk and RBI (coming off his MLB game-winning hit Thursday against the Mets)


Springfield lost to Jacksonville, 12-7

Tyler Herron - 3.0 IP, 1 hit, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 K

Kenny Maiques - 1 IP, 1 BB, 0 runs (coming off a strong 2007 season)

Kris Honel (1.2 IP, 5 ER), Michael Cooper (2 IP, 3 R, 1 ER) and Jason Cairns (1.1 IP, 3 ER) roughed up
