Cards Post of the Week – March 16 through 22

Recognizing the very best posts of the past week from our message board community of thousands of St. Louis Cardinals fans the world over.

As we do each and every week here at stlcardinals.scout.com, we call out the best of the best - the "Post of the Week" from our Scout.com St. Louis Cardinals message board.

Here is the link to the Message Boards, of which there are several – for fantasy players, insider information for subscribers, general topics, non-Cardinals sports and more.

This article covers the week ending Saturday, March 22.

Our 2007 Poster of the Year, "CariocaCardinal", continues his series with predictions for the 2008 season for the majors and many minor league players as well. Others chipped in thoughts and predictions of their own. "Carioca's 50 predictions for 2008 (#21-#30)".

"BeauHeart" provided a view back at a recent Cardinals draft in a thread he called "retrospective: 2004 draft". Spurred by the release this past week of the second and third round picks from that draft, Beau scanned and commented on a number of the selections.

Looking ahead to the 2008 First-Year Player Draft in June is something a number of Cardinals fans are doing. The Cards picking at number 13 enhances the interest. "Cardinals Scouting Cincinnati's Dan Osterbrock" is a thread that began with a link to a news article about a young left-handed pitcher and moved to more general draft-related discussion. Near the bottom of page one, "forsch31" took a glass half-full view of pitching while at the top of the next page, "easton714" one more time explains why the Rick Porcello (non-)decision is not the end of the world.

On page two of the thread called "Cuts from Minor League Camp", "BeauHeart" offered a comparison between released player Eric Haberer and remaining pitcher Adam Daniels.

One of the most interesting threads in a long time began with a discussion over "Six Cuts from Major League Camp". On page seven, "easton714" offered his view of several breakout candidates in 2008. Don't miss the first six pages, too, though!

This week's winner is actually a rerun by "BobReed". Near the bottom of page one of the thread "competing in 2008", a solid comparison between the 2007 and 2008 Cardinals was provided.

In recognition of that post, "BobReed" is our winner of "Post of the Week". He collects a free four-week subscription extension to stlcardinals.scout.com and all the other great sites in the Scout.com network.

Next week, it can be you! So, keep posting!
