Ten Plus Years of Cardinals Game-Winning RBIs

Skip Schumaker's Sunday walk-off double added to his team-leading total of game-winning RBIs after the sixth inning this season. We look back on three types of GWRBI from the last ten years of St. Louis Cardinals regular and post-season baseball.

With the St. Louis Cardinals claiming two walk-off game-winning RBIs this past weekend very fresh on our minds, we have assembled lists covering the last ten years plus this season to date of three different types of game-winning RBI.

The first are those collected via a home run, such as Ryan Ludwick's walkoff on Saturday. The second list covers the game-winners that occurred after the sixth inning, including Skip Schumaker's ninth-inning double on Sunday. The final group documents game-winning hit leaders each season regardless of type.

It should be noted that for 2008, all qualifying players are named. For the ten previous years, only the team leaders are listed.

Not surprisingly, during this period, Albert Pujols has dominated. El Hombre's numbers are massive. 72 regular season and six of his post-season home runs were game-winning RBIs.

Note: Post-season game-winners are listed separately: (ps+1), for example. Same for game-winners that occurred via non-hit circumstances. Codes: WP=wild pitch, DP=double play, E=error.
