The Batavia Muckdogs' bats are beginning to wake up to go along with several strong pitching performances. Jon Edwards ranks as one of the best hitters in the league while Shane Peterson and Jermaine Curtis are showing why they were highly drafted by the Cardinals.

Outfielder Jon Edwards has hit in nine of his last ten games (.382) with three home runs. Outfielder Shane Peterson is hitting .438 in his last ten to raise his average to .355 while reaching base at a .455 clip. Third baseman Jermaine Curtis has five multi-hit games in his last eight starts.
Arquimedes Nieto has posted victories in his last two games. In 17 innings this season, Nieto has allowed only two earned runs (1.06) while posting a 3-to-1 strikeout to walk ratio. Though he has only one victory to his credit, Ramon Delgado has been touched for only one earned run in 15.1 innings this season (0.59).
Two highly-touted pitchers are finding success in the early goings of their professional careers. Lance Lynn has yet to allow an earned run in 6.2 innings while Scott Gorgen has seven strikeouts in his first five professional innings.
Daniel Richardson has allowed more runs than innings pitched due to poor command, 10 walks in 5.1 innings. In his last two appearances, Rigoberto Lugo has been tagged for six earned runs in 2.1 innings.
Xavier Scruggs has collected 53 professional at bats and has struck out in 38% of them.

On the pitching side, the team's 2.86 ERA is the tied for the fourth-best mark in the 14 team league. The control got better this week as the team ranked last in walks allowed previously but rank ninth this week.
Ramon Delgado is third in the ERA while teammate Arquimedes Nieto ranks seventh. Though he has an ERA over six, Adam Reifer is tied for fifth in the league with his three saves. Nieto and his 1.12 WHIP rank tenth in the league.
Jon Edwards is third in the league in average, on base percentage, first in slugging, and fifth in doubles.
Shane Peterson and Jermaine Curtis rank eleventh and twelfth in average, respectively. Peterson is fifth in on base percentage. Curtis ranks ninth in slugging andeighth in hits (tied with teammate Colt Sedbrook).
Colt Sedbrook is tied for first in triples and tied for fourth in stolen bases.
