Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A) - Shutout 3-0 by New Orleans

The Redbirds lost their fourth straight game after a 3-0 shutout loss to New Orleans Sunday afternoon.

The Redbirds struggled offensively, recording only four hits with outfielder Jon Jay recording two of the hits, but Memphis never advanced a runner past first base.

Josh Phelps needs only one more RBI to equal Rick Ankiel's team-leading total from last season. Memphis catcher Bryan Anderson is 2-for-29 in his last 10 games.

Starter Mitchell Boggs who was tagged with the loss, allowed just two runs through six innings.

Springfield Cardinals (Double-A) - Lost to the Hooks 7-3

The Springfield Cardinals stranded 14 men on base en-route to their third straight loss on the current road trip, falling to the Corpus Christi Hooks by a score of 7-3 on Sunday night.

Starter Kyle Mura suffered the loss, giving up four runs, three of them earned on nine hits and a walk, while striking out one.

Mark Shorey continues to swing a hot bat, going 2-for-4 with his 11th home run.

Palm Beach Cardinals (High-A) - Punished the Mets 13-2

Palm Beach first baseman Matthew Arburr ripped three home runs and had six RBIs, connecting in the first, third and eighth innings to lead the Cardinals pass the Mets.

Starter Mark Diapoules picked up his second win, pitching 5.2 innings, scattering six hits and four walks, allowing three runs, two of them earned.

Quad Cities River Bandits (A) - Winners 7-6 over Clinton

Tommy Pham hit his team-leading 16th homer and drove in four runs on Sunday evening, as the Quad Cities River Bandits defeated the Clinton Lumber Kings.

Kenny Maiques picked up the win, after taking the hit for a blown save, while Eduardo Sanchez earned his first save for QC.

Batavia Muckdogs (SS) - Lost to Brooklyn 6-5

Batavia outhit Brooklyn 13-9, but came up a run short in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Cyclones.

Leadoff man and third baseman Jose Garcia went 4-for-5 and scored twice to lead the Dog's offense.

Jason Buursma suffered his second loss, pitching 1.1 innings in relief, giving up the winning run.

Johnson City Cardinals (R) - Defeated Greeneville 4-3

Right-handed pitcher Santo Maertz improved to 3-0 at Johnson City with his third win Sunday.

Offensively, Curt Smith, Travis Mitchell & Paul Cruz each had a multi-hit game.

Gulf Coast League Cardinals (R) - Beat the Mets 6-5 in 12

Eric Fornataro pitched five shutout innings to pick up his second win for the Cardinals. Eric scattered three hits and did not give up a walk, while striking out five.

Right-fielder Ryde Rodriguez drove in three of the Cardinals runs, going 2-for-5 with a walk. Shortstop Yunier Castillo went 3-for-6 with two runs scored.
