Hawaii Winter League

 

Tony Cruz (Palm Beach): Started at catcher and batted 4th.  3-for-4 with one RBI, one stolen base, and one strikeout (swinging).

 

Jim Rapoport (Springfield): Started in right field and batted 6th.  0-for-4 with two strikeouts (swinging).  (Runners left in scoring position with 2-outs: 4)

 

Honolulu shut out Waikiki 2-0: link

The Sharks improve to 13-5-1 and have a six-game lead over Waikiki in the East Division.

 

The league takes Monday off. Honolulu visits North Shore Tuesday @ 7:00pm HT.

Tyler Norrick (Palm Beach) and Brad Furnish (Springfield) are t-4th with four games pitched.

Rico Washington (Memphis-free agent): Played in left field and moved to third base, batting 4th.  1-for-4 with one ground into double play.  Washington had a throwing error in the first inning, allowing a runner to advance but not scoring.

David Freese (Memphis): Started at third base and batted 7th.  0-for-2 with two walks, one strikeout, and one caught stealing.  He was lifted in the ninth inning.

 

Luke Gregerson (Springfield) and Ron Flores (Memphis-free agent): Did not pitch for Margarita.

Ex-Cardinal prospect Justin Pope pitched two scoreless innings of relief, walking one for Margarita.

Margarita scored the winning run the 10th inning to beat Caribes 2-1: link
