Yadier Molina's commitment to play for Jose Oquendo in Puerto Rico in December leads Tuesday's St. Louis Cardinals prospects news in winter ball.

Hawaii Winter League

 

Tony Cruz (Palm Beach): Started as catcher and batted 4th.  2-for-4 with one double.  Two runners stole bases while he was behind the plate.

 

Blake King (Palm Beach): Entered in the seventh inning and pitched 1.1 innings.  Allowed one hit, one earned run, walked one, struck out one and blew the save opportunity.  (pitches-strikes: 27-16) (ground out-fly out: 0-2) (inherited runners-scored: 3-0)

 

Honolulu couldn't hold onto an early lead and blew the game in the later innings, losing to North Shore 3-2: link

The Sharks fall to 13-6-1 and have a three-game lead over the second-best team in the league.

Brett Wallace (Springfield): Started at third base and batted 4th.  0-for-6 with one strikeout (swinging).  (Runners left in scoring position with 2-outs: 2)

 

Tyler Norrick (Palm Beach): Entered in the third inning and pitched one inning.  Allowed four hits, three earned runs, two home runs, hit one batter, and struck out three.  (pitches-strikes: 39-25)

 

Justin Fiske (Springfield): Entered in the ninth and pitched one inning.  Allowed two hits, two unearned runs, walked one, threw one wild pitch, and struck out one.  (pitches-strikes: 35-16) (ground out-fly out: 1-1)

 

Peoria Saguaros just could not keep up with Peoria Javelinas and lost 18-11: link

Jose Martinez (Springfield): Started at shortstop and batted 9th.  0-for-3 at the plate.

Jose Rada (GCL): Entered in the fifth and pitched two innings.  Allowed no hits or runs, and struck out two.  (ground out-fly out:4-0)

Aragua fell behind early and never came back, losing 8-4 to Lara: link

 

Luke Gregerson (Springfield) and Ron Flores (Memphis-free agent): Pitch for Margarita.

Venezuelan Parallel League

 

Kevin Moscatel (GCL): Pinch hit and took over at the catcher position, batting 4th.  1-for-2 with one RBI, one run scored, and one strikeout.

Luis Perdomo (Springfield): Did not pitch for Aguilas.

Quite a few of the imported players that will be playing for Toros de Sincelejo, which will be coached by Dann Bilardello, have ties to the St. Louis Cardinals organization: link

 

An update with Neder Horta from Indios de Cartegena camp. The Caimanes de Barranquilla released their roster which includes Donovan Solano (Springfield), Alexander Castellano (DSL), and former Cardinal farmhand Luis Martinez: link

 

Players tentatively expected to play: Pete Parise (Palm Beach), Davis Bilardello (Palm Beach), Nick Derba (Palm Beach), Casey Mulligan (Palm Beach), Carlos Pupo (Quad Cities), and Casey Rowlett (Springfield).

 

Puerto Rican League
