Hawaii Winter League

 

No games scheduled for Thursday.

 

Battle of the division leaders...Honolulu (13-7-1) welcomes West Oahu (10-10-1) Friday @ 7:00pm HT.

 

Tony Cruz (Palm Beach) leads the team in AVG (.444), OPS (1.114), SLG (.644), doubles (seven), total bases (29), and tied for the lead in triples (one).

Arizona Fall League

 

Tyler Greene (Memphis): Started at third base and batted 4th.  1-for-4 with one double, one two-out RBI, two runs, and one strikeout (swinging).

On Friday, the league's top prospects face off in the AFL Rising Stars game, with Pop Warner (Springfield) managing the American Division and Brett Wallace (Springfield) playing under him.

Mexican Pacific League

 

Francisco Rivera (Quad Cities): Was placed on the disabled/inactive list, retroactive October 11.

Hugo Castellanos (Memphis-free agent): Did not pitch for Obregon.

Obregon scored seven in the 8th to beat Hermosillo 7-2: link

Venezuelan League

 

Ron Flores (Memphis-free agent): Entered in the eighth and pitched to two batters.  Allowed one hit and no runs.  (ground out-fly out: 0-1) (inherited runners-scored: 1-1)

Luke Gregerson (Springfield): Did not pitch for Margarita.

Jose Martinez (Springfield) and Jose Rada (GCL): Did not play for Aragua.

Venezuelan Parallel League

 

Jose Cortez (VSL): Started in left field and batted leadoff.  0-for-3 with one RBI and one caught stealing.

Ted Obregon (GCL): Started at shortstop and moved to second base, batting 2nd.  2-for-4 with one triple, one run, two stolen bases, and one strikeout.

Osmir Medina (VSL): Replaced Obregon at second base.  1-for-1 with one double.

Alberto Rivero (VSL): Started in centerfield and batted 3rd.  1-for-3 with one RBI, one run, and one sac fly.

Gerardo Mannbel (VSL): Started as designated hitter and batted 4th.  1-for-2 with one double, two runs, two walks, and one stolen base. 

Yorbel Alcala (VSL): Started at catcher and batted 5th.  1-for-3 with one two-out RBI and one run.

Limbert Rivas (VSL): Replaced Alcala as catcher.  1-for-2 with one home run, three RBIs, and one run.

Roberto Espinoza (Quad Cities): Started at first base and batted 6th.  2-for-3 with one run and assisted in one double play.

Billy Bolivar (VSL): Started at third base and batted 7th.  2-for-2 with one run, one walk, and assisted in one double play.

Anthony Fonseca (VSL): Started in right field and moved to left, batting 9th.  1-for-2 with one RBI and one walk.

Yonathan Gonzalez (VSL): Started and pitched five innings.  Allowed six hits, one earned run, one walk, hit one batter, and struck out two en route to the win. (ground out-fly out: 6-5).

Sergio Nieves (July 2nd signing): Followed Gonzalez and pitched three innings.  Allowed one hit, one earned run, one walk, and struck out two.  (ground out-fly out: 3-4)

Francisco Guzman (VSL): Entered in the ninth and pitched to one batter.  Allowed no hits or runs and picked up his third save in Parallel League play.  (inherited runners-scored: 2-0)

St. Louis put a stop to Philadelphia's late run and won 9-5: link

 

Orlando Munoz (GCL): Entered in the 12th and pitched one inning.  Allowed no hits or runs and walked one.  (ground out-fly out: 2-1)

Caribes scored in the late innings to tie Caracas, but the game ended in a 2-2 tie: link

 

Jose Garcia (Batavia): Started at third base and batted leadoff.  2-for-5 with one double and two runs.

Frederick Parejo (Batavia): Started in centerfield and batted 5th.  1-for-5 with one two-out RBI and one strikeout.

Deimer Bier (VSL): Entered in the ninth and pitched one inning.  Allowed no hits or runs and struck out one.  (ground out-fly out: 1-1)

D'Angelo Jimenez (Memphis-free agent): Started at third base and batted 7th.  2-for-3 with two RBIs and one walk.  (Runners left in scoring position with 2-outs: 1)


Luis Perdomo (Springfield): Did not pitch for Aguilas.

Former Cardinal Hector Luna was 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs for Aguilas.
