Hawaii Winter League

Arizona Fall League


Shane Robinson (Memphis): Started in centerfield and batted leadoff.  2-for-5 with two RBIs (one with two-outs), two runs, one walk, stole one base, and struck out once (swinging).  (Runners left in scoring position with 2-outs: 2)

 

Tyler Greene (Memphis): Started at second base and batted 5th.  3-for-5 with three doubles, one RBI, two runs, and one walk.  Greene assisted in one double play in the field.

 

Steven Hill (Palm Beach-taxi squad): Started as designated hitter and batted 8th.  1-for-5 with one double, one two-out RBI, one run, one walk, one strikeout (swinging), and ground into one double play.  (Runners left in scoring position with 2-outs: 2)

 

Adam Ottavino (Springfield): Started and pitched three innings.  Allowed three hits, two unearned runs, and struck out two en route to his first win.  (pitches-strikes: 50-33)(ground out-fly out:2-4)

 

Brad Furnish (Springfield): Followed Ottavino and pitched two innings.  Allowed one hit and no runs.  (pitches-strikes: 20-12) (ground out-fly out: 5-1)

 

Tyler Norrick (Palm Beach): Followed Furnish and pitched one inning.  Allowed two hits, two earned runs, one home run, one walk, and struck out one.  (pitches-strikes: 23-13) (ground out-fly out: 1-1)

 

Justin Fiske (Springfield): Followed Norrick and pitched 1.2 innings.  Allowed one hit, no runs, walked two and struck out three.  (pitches-strikes: 36-18) (ground out-fly out: 0-2)

 

Peoria Saguaros decimated Peoria Javelinas 15-4: link

The Saguaros improve to 11-5 are are in a first place tie with Mesa in the American division.

Hugo Castellanos (Memphis-free agent): Did not pitch for Obregon.

Venezuelan League

 

Jose Martinez (Springfield): Is currently with his wife as she gave birth to their first son.

Jose Rada (GCL): Did not play for Aragua.

Ex-Cardinal Carmen Cali kept both inherited runners on base to pick up the save.

 

David Freese (Memphis): Started at third base and batted 4th.  0-for-4 with one strikeout (swinging) and ground into one double play.  Freese had a throwing error in the 7th, but the runner did not score.

Rico Washington (Memphis-free agent): Entered as a pinch hitter and took over in left field, batting 8th.  0-for-1 with one strikeout (looking).

Aragua scored one in the 6th to tie, then two more in the 9th to beat Caribes 3-1: link

Luke Gregerson (Springfield) and Ron Flores (Memphis-free agent): Did not pitch for Margarita.

Frederick Parejo (Batavia): Started in left field and batted 7th.  1-for-3 with one two-out RBI, one walk, and one strikeout.

D'Angelo Jimenez (Memphis-free agent): Started at third base and batted 9th.  1-for-4 with one run.  Jimenez assisted in one double play in the field.

Licey lost to Escogido 6-2: link

Licey (3-6) visit Azucareros (7-1) @ 5:00pm AST.

 

Luis Perdomo (Springfield): Did not pitch for Aguilas.

Ex-Cardinal Julian Tavarez gave up six hits, six runs (five earned), and one home run over 5.1 innings for Aguilas.

Kelvin Jimenez (St. Louis): Tentatively expected to pitch for Estellas.

 

Colombian League

 

Neder Horta, St. Louis Cardinals' Colombian scout, promised the mayor of Cartegena he would bring the title home: link

 

Also in the above article:

  • Cartegena changed their name from the Cardenales to Leones.
  • The league is still trying to get involved in the Caribbean Series.
  • And the league would like to see the entire rosters entact as they go on the road.  They had some problems last year especially during the Colombian vs. Nicaraguan championship series.

Alexander Castellano (DSL): Was the designated hitter and scored the tying run in the 4th.  Castellano is the youngest player on the Barranquilla team.

Donovan Solano (Springfield): Committed an error which allowed the winning run to score in the 1st.

Sincelejo lost to Monteria 6-3 (listed at bottom of above article)

Puerto Rican League

 

Ex-Cardinal Bill Pulsipher will be pitching for Lobos de Arecibo.

 

P.J. Walters (Memphis) is joining manager Jose Oquendo (St. Louis) and Bryan Anderson (Memphis) with the Gigantes at the start of the winter season: link

Yadier Molina (St. Louis) won't be playing until December and Juan Gonzalez (Memphis-free agent) has an offer on the table, but has yet to confirm.
