Hawaii Winter League

 

West Oahu @ Honolulu was postponed for a second day, no make-up games scheduled: link

 

League takes a day off Monday. Waikiki (10-11-1) visits Honolulu (13-8-1) Tuesday @ 7:00pm HT.

Arizona Fall League

 

No games Sunday. Peoria Saguaros (11-5) visit Mesa (11-5) Monday @ 12:35pm MST.

 

Shane Robinson (Memphis): Second on the team with 11 runs, tied for first with two home runs, first with 12 RBIs, tied for fifth with 20 total bases, and first with four stolen bases on the team.

 

Tyler Greene (Memphis): Tied for third with 10 runs, tied for second with four doubles, tied for first with two home runs, tied for fifth with 20 total bases, and second with a .645 SLG, second with a 1.093 OPS on the team.

 

Adam Ottavino (Springfield): Tied for second with one win, second with 10.2 innings pitched, and tied for second with nine strikeouts on the team.

 

Tyler Norrick (Palm Beach): Tied for second with six games, tied for second with nine strikeouts, and tied for fourth with one hold on the team.

 

Brad Furnish (Springfield): Tied for second with six games and tied for fourth with one hold on the team.

 

Justin Fiske (Springfield): Tied for third with one game finish on the team.

Mexican Pacific League

 

Hugo Castellanos (Memphis-free agent): Did not pitch for Obregon.

Francisco Rivera (Quad Cities): Currently on the Culiacan disabled list.

Jason Motte (St. Louis): Tentatively expected to pitch for Hermosillo.

 

Venezuelan League

 

Ex-Cardinal prospect Les Walrond struggled through 2.2 innings, allowing five hits, six runs (two earned), and one strikeout for Magallanes.  Magallanes lost 9-8.

 

Jose Rada (GCL): Entered in the seventh and pitched 1.2 innings.  Allowed two hits, no runs, and struck out two.  (ground out-fly out: 2-1).

Jose Martinez (Springfield): Currently with his wife and newborn child.

 

David Freese (Memphis): Started at third base and batted 4th.  1-for-5 with one RBI and three strikeouts (swinging).

Rico Washington (Memphis-free agent): Did not play for Caribes.

Caribes came back to tie the game, but Aragua pulled out the win 8-7: link

 

Aragua (5-4) has Monday and Tuesday off.

Caribes (5-5) had Monday off, visit Caracas (6-5) Tuesday @ 7:30pm VST.

 

Luke Gregerson (Springfield): Entered in the eighth and pitched one inning.  Allowed no hits or runs, but one batter reached base due to an error.  (ground out-fly out: 3-0)

Venezuelan Parallel League

 

Domnit Bolivar (Quad Cities): Started in right field and batted 7th.  2-for-4 with two runs.

Frederick Parejo (Batavia): Started in left field and batted 8th.  2-for-4 with one run and committed one error.

Reynier Gonzalez (Johnson City): Entered in the seventh and pitched two innings.  Allowed one hit, no runs, and hit one batter.  (ground out-fly out: 5-1)

Ruben Alvarado (VSL): Entered in the ninth and pitched one inning.  Allowed one hit, no runs, and struck out one.  (ground out-fly out: 1-1)

 

Ted Obregon (GCL): Started at second base and batted leadoff.  1-for-4 at the plate, assisted in one double play, and committed one error.

Hector Garcia (VSL): Took over for Gerardo Mannbel at third base, batting 2nd.  1-for-2 at the plate and assisted in one double play.

Roberto Perez (VSL): Started at first base and batted 4th.  1-for-1 with one walk and committed one error.

Roberto Espinoza (Quad Cities): Started at catcher and batted 5th.  1-for-3 with one strikeout.

Billy Bolivar (VSL): Started in right field and moved to left field, batting 7th.  1-for-2 with one run and one sacrifice.

Cesar Valera (July 2nd signing): Started at shortstop and batted 8th.  1-for-4 with one strikeout.

Anthony Fonseca (VSL): Started in left field and moved to right field, batting 9th.  2-for-3 with one RBI and stole one base.

Carlos Noguera (VSL): Started and pitched 3.2 innings.  Allowed seven hits, six earned runs, one home run, and threw one wild pitch en route to his second loss.  (ground out-fly out: 7-4)

Moises Colorado (VSL): Followed Noguera and pitched 4.1 innings.  Allowed two hits, one unearned run, four walks, hit one batter, and struck out two.  (ground out-fly out: 2-8) (inherited runners-scored: 1-0).

Ex-Cardinal Jorge Sosa pitched five strong innings allowing seven hits, two earned runs, and striking out five for Licey.

Felipe Lopez (St. Louis-free agent) and Joel Pineiro (St. Louis) have both confirmed they will play for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic.  And the country has reduced the potential managerial candidates down to four, which includes Jose Oquendo (St. Louis): link
