Hawaii Winter League

 

Tony Cruz (Palm Beach): Started as designated hitter and batted 3rd.  1-for-4 at the plate.

Jim Rapoport (Springfield): Started in right field and batted 5th.  0-for-4 with one strikeout (looking).  (Runners left in scoring position with 2-outs: 1)

Tyler Herron (Springfield): Entered in the seventh and pitched two innings.  Allowed no hits or runs and struck out two.  (pitches-strikes: 19-15) (ground out-fly out: 2-2)

 

Honolulu outhit Waikiki but was shut out 2-0: link

The Sharks fall to 14-15-2 and 2.5 games behind Waikiki in the East Division.

Arizona Fall League

Justin Fiske (Springfield): Entered in the fourth and pitched two innings.  Allowed two hits, no runs, and struck out one.  (pitches-strikes: 29-18) (ground out-fly out: 2-3)

 

Peoria Saguaros scored 13 runs in the first three innings to beat Peoria Javelinas 13-4: link

Venezuelan Parallel League

 

Ted Obregon (GCL): Started at second base and batted leadoff.  1-for-3 at the plate and assisted in one double play.

Alberto Rivero (VSL): Started in centerfield and batted 2nd.  1-for-3 with one walk and one strikeout.

Limbert Rivas (VSL): Started at catcher and batted 7th.  1-for-3 with two strikeouts.  Had one passed ball behind the plate.

Carlos Noguera (VSL): Started and lasted just 1.1 innings.  Allowed seven hits, seven earned runs, one home run, one walk, and struck out one en route to his third loss in league play.  (ground out-fly out: 2-1)

Miguel Lopez (VSL): Followed Noguera and pitched 3.2 innings.  Allowed four hits, two earned runs, two home runs, threw one wild pitch, and struck out two.  (ground out-fly out: 3-5) (inherited runners-scored: 1-0)

Gregory Ramos (VSL): Pitched the final three frames.  Allowed two hits, no runs, one walk, and struck out three.  (ground out-fly out: 6-0)

St. Louis was held to three hits and shut out 9-0 by ALB Orkas: link

 

Jose Calero (GCL): Entered in the seventh and pitched two innings.  Allowed two hits, one earned run, one home run, and struck out three.  (ground out-fly out: 2-1)

Aragua fell behind early and never recovered, losing 5-2 to Leones: link

 

Fernando Cedeno (VSL): Entered in the eighth and pitched one inning.  Allowed no hits or runs, and walked one.  (ground out-fly out: 1-2)

Caribes added five runs in the sixth and beat Houston 10-3: link

Dominican Republic League

D'Angelo Jimenez (Memphis-free agent): Started at third base and batted 9th.  1-for-3 with one run and one strikeout (looking).  Assisted in one double play in the field.

Rigoberto Lugo (Batavia): Entered in the seventh and pitched one inning.  Allowed no hit, on unearned run, one walk, hit one batter, and struck out one.  (ground out-fly out: 2-0)

Felipe Lopez (St. Louis-free agent): Did not play for Santurce.

Santurce gave up six runs in the third and fourth combined and lost to Mayaguez 8-2: link

Sacturce (1-1) welcome Caguas (0-1) Saturday @ 7:30pm AST.

 

Luis Mateo (Johnson City):  Entered in the ninth and as a pinch runner and scored the winning run on Anderson's single.

Bryan Anderson (Memphis): Entered as a pinch hitter and drove in the winning run with a single to right field in the bottom of the ninth, with two-outs.

P.J. Walters (Memphis) and Yadier Molina (St. Louis-December): Did not play for Carolina.
