Hawaii Winter League

 

Jim Rapoport (Springfield): Started in centerfield and batted 2nd.  0-for-3 with two walks, one strikeout (swinging), and one caught stealing.

Blake King (Palm Beach): Entered in the ninth and pitched the final frame.  Allowed one hit, one earned run, one home run, and one walk.  (pitches-strikes:23-12)(ground out-fly out:1-2)

D'Angelo Jimenez (Memphis-free agent): Started at third base and batted 9th.  0-for-2 with two walks.

Ex-Cardinal Jorge Sosa pitched another great game, giving up four hits, one run, two walks, and striking out three over six innings for his fourth win in league play.

Luis Perdomo (Springfield): Entered in the seventh and pitched to two batters.  He hit one batter, forcing a run to score, and got the other to fly out.  (inherited runners-scored: 3-1)

Puerto Rican League

 

Bryan Anderson (Memphis): Started at catcher and batted 7th.  1-for-4 with one strikeout (swinging).  Had one throwing error trying to catch a base stealer (runner did not score), one passed ball (2nd inning), and three stolen bases against him behind the plate.

Luis Mateo (Johnson City): Started at second base and batted 9th.  0-for-2 at the plate.  (Runners left in scoring position with 2-outs: 1)

P.J. Walters (Memphis) and Yadier Molina (St. Louis-December): Did not play for Carolina.

Carolina was jumped on early and never came back, losing to Arecibo 8-5: link


Rigoberto Lugo (Batavia) and Felipe Lopez (St. Louis-free agent): Did not play for Santurce.
