Cards Message Board Post of the Month: June

The first of three winners in our summer contest recognizing the top post from last month on our free Message Board is ambill10. He receives an autographed copy of Rob Rains' new book, "Tony La Russa: Man on a Mission".

There were a number of strong contenders for our Scout.com Cardinals Message Board Post of the Month for June, as nominated by you, our readers.

To be considered, all one needed to do was make a post on a new or existing thread and have it flagged as significant by any reader of the site on a special thread set up for tracking award candidates and pinned to the top of the board for easy access.

The handful of serious and not-so-serious contenders for the June award included posts by BicycleMike (discussing then-GM Bing Devine and the Lou Brock trade in 1964), UConnCard (remembering Jack Buck), pugsleyaddams (poking fun at message board regulars) and easton714 (putting the Mark DeRosa trade into perspective). You can locate each of these posts by reading the nomination thread here.

I am pleased to announce that the winner for June is ambill10 for a pair of posts on June 17 that analyze the Cardinals payroll strategy from a "Dead Weight" perspective.

There are still two more autographed copies of "Tony La Russa: Man on a Mission" by Rob Rains from Triumph Books up for grabs this summer, so head on over to the Message Board and get to posting and nominating!
