Nicaraguan National Championship


Jem Argenal played in eight games for UNICA going 9-for-24 (.375) with five doubles, four RBIs, four walks, and three strikeouts.  His season average has risen to .286. (last updated August 19)


Johnny Polanco pitched in one game for La Trinidad.  He allowed no hits, four earned run, three walks, and earned the loss (0-1).



Winter Ball News


Former Cardinals prospect Jackson Paz will be trying out for Cardenales de Lara in the Venezuelan League.


Current Cardinals prospects Jose Calero, Pablo Ortiz, and Kaizer Inojoza, along with former Cardinals prospects David Brito, Ismael Cardona, Juan Lucena, and Senger Peralta will be trying out for Tigres de Aragua. Comandante del Beisbol


D'Angelo Jimenez will play for Tigres del Licey in the Dominican League.


Cesar Izturis will play for the Cardenales de Lara in the Venezuelan League.


Josh Pressley will play for Estrellas Orientales in the Dominican League.


Reid Gorecki will play for Mayos de Navojoa in the Mexican Pacific League.


The rights to Mike McCoy have been traded from Mayos de Navojoa to Tomateros de Culiacan in the Mexican Pacific League.


Tony Pena has been hired to manage Aguilas Cibaenas in the Dominican League.
