Dominican Prospect League (November 4)
This league has been started to help potential prospects get a better shot at showcasing their talents for MLB scouts. Many times organizations will not sign or negotiate the price on signing bonuses if they do not get a good look at the player in live game action. The league also plans to hire investigators to run background checks on players so the paperwork is all ready to go for the MLB scouts.
Players are not required to have their own agents, pitchers will be on strict pitch counts to avoid injury, rosters will be set at 20 players maximum (four teams), no age limit to participate, players will have to pay 1% of their signing bonus to help fund the league, and all games will be played in an MLB facility.
