MLB Trade Rumors was kind enough to get the ball rolling on a rumor that the Cardinals are one of many teams eyeing Cuban defector Aroldis Chapman: Link

Post-Dispatch's Joe Strauss took a couple questions on the topic and said that the Cardinals were concerned by his age and feel the asking price is way too high.

From my understanding, if the Cardinals want Chapman that badly, they will have to outbid the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Chicago White Sox, and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (the heavy hitters).  The St. Louis Cardinals also have to make a decision on re-signing Matt Holliday and extending Albert Pujols, which could factor into the equation.
