Cards October Message Board Contest Winner

Gagliano, who made the top message post in October, receives an autographed copy of the new book "Satchel - The Life and Times of an American Legend".

The poster who made the top post on our Cardinals board during October has won a special prize - an autographed copy of the new book "Satchel - The Life and Times of an American Legend", signed by author Larry Tye.

I am pleased to announce that the winner is Gagliano for a series of posts on October 26 in which he laid out and analyzed his top Cardinals prospect lists from 1996 through 2001. That generated some great follow-on discussion, as well.

Among the strong contenders for the October award were BobReed (comparing top prospects Richard Castillo and Nick Additon), RCWarrior (suggesting what may have kept Rick Ankiel from reaching his potential), and our July winner, CariocaCardinal (insurance ramifications of the contracts of Matt Holliday and Albert Pujols). You can locate each of these posts by reading the nomination thread here.

About "Satchel" Tye's book is meticulously researched and serves as a complete ledger of the life and career one of the most-important figures in baseball in the 20th Century. To see a four minute video about Paige narrated by Tye, click on this link.

For the best Cardinals-focused hot stove discussion all winter long, head on over to our popular message board today and start posting!
