Mexican Pacific League

 

Fernando Salas (Memphis-Hermosillo) has made ten relief appearances posting a 0-0 record, 2.70 ERA, three holds, and one save.  He's allowed six hits, three runs (two earned), one home run, two walks, and struck out nine over 6.2 innings.

 

Hugo Castellanos (Former Memphis-Obregon/Mexicali) has made 28 relief appearances posting a 3-1 record, 2.08 ERA, four holds, and one save.  He's allowed 29 hits, eight runs (seven earned), hit four batters, walked seven, and struck out 18 over 30.1 innings.

Andy Cavazos (Former St. Louis-Guasave) has made 16 relief appearances posting a 2-1 record, 7.47 ERA, and three holds.  He's allowed 25 hits, 15 runs (13 earned), one home run, 15 walks, and struck out 22 over 15.2 innings.

Alberto Castillo (Former MLB Spring Invite-Mochis) has made three appearances (two starts) posting an 0-2 record and 6.75 ERA.  He's allowed nine hits, seven earned runs, four home runs, hit one batter, walked four, and struck out nine over 9.1 innings.

Reid Gorecki (Former Springfield-Navojoa) has played in 36 games going 36-for-129 (.279) with five doubles, two triples, four home runs, 19 RBIs, 57 total bases, 24 runs, 16 walks, 14 stolen bases, 27 strikeouts, one caught stealing, .364 OBP, .442 SLG, and .806 OPS.

Mike McCoy (Former Memphis-Culiacan) has played in 42 games going 51-for-159 (.321) with seven doubles, one triple, two home runs, 14 RBIs, 66 total bases, 38 runs, 30 walks, 22 stolen bases, 24 strikeouts, three caught stealing, .432 OBP, .415 SLG, and .847 OPS.

Kit Pellow (Former Memphis-San Andres) has played in 14 games going 12-for-61 (.250) with thre doubles, five RBIs, seven runs, 11 walks, eight strikeouts, .312 SLG, and .393 OBA.

Alexander Francisco (Former DSL-Cordoba) has a 1-3 record and 8.82 ERA.  He's allowed 26 hits, 18 runs (16 earned), hit two batters, walked nine, and struck out 11 over 16.1 innings.

Ivan Bellazetin (Former MiLB Spring Invite-Xalapa) has played in 15 games going 12-for-33 (.364) with one triple, three RBIs, seven runs, three walks, three strikeouts, .424 SLG, and .417 OBA.

Jose Rada (Johnson City-Aragua) has made 18 relief appearances posting a 1-2 record, 3.32 ERA, and three holds.  He's allowed 15 hits, eight runs (seven earned), one home run, hit three batters, walked seven, and struck out 16 over 19 innings.

 

Dennis Abreu (Former Tennessee-Margarita) has played in 37 games going 33-for-104 (.317) with five doubles, three home runs, 18 RBIs, 47 total bases, 17 runs, 12 walks, three stolen bases, 19 strikeouts, one caught stealing, .418 OBP, .452 SLG, and .870 OPS.

Jolbert Cabrera (Former Memphis-Lara) has played in two games going 2-for-8 (.250) with one double, one RBI, three total bases, one run, .250 OBP, .375 SLG, and .625 OPS.

Anthony Fonseca (VSL-Caracas) started in centerfield and batted third.  2-for-3 with two runs and two walks.


Caracas beat Tamp Bay 5-4

 

Domnit Bolivar (Quad Cities-Aragua) started at third base and batted third.  2-for-4 with one double, one RBI, two runs, one walk, one stolen base, and two strikeouts.

Reynier Gonzalez (Johnson City-Aragua) started and pitched six innings.  He allowed six hits, two runs (one earned), four walks, and struck out two for the winning decision (5-2).

 

Aragua beat Caribes 6-2

 

Wilfred Vivas (VSL) started at second base and moved to shortstop, batting leadoff.  1-for-4 with two runs, one walk, and one strikeout.

Ted Obregon (Johnson City) started in centerfield and batted second.  2-for-3 with one double, one run, two walks, and two caught stealing.

Cesar Valera (GCL) started at shortstop and batted third.  1-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs, and one walk.

Hector Garcia (VSL) started at third base and batted fourth.  3-for-4 with one home run, two RBIs, two runs, and one walk.

Jem Argenal (VSL) started in right field and batted fifth.  2-for-3 with two RBIs, one sac fly, and one hit by pitch.

Yorbel Alcala (DSL) entered late in the game at first base and batted sixth.  1-for-2 with one RBI.

Moses Colorado (VSL) entered in the fifth and pitched 3.2 innings.  He allowed five hits, one earned run, and struck out seven for the winning decision (2-2). (g/f:1-3)

Deimer Bier (VSL) entered in the ninth and pitched two-thirds of an inning.  He allowed no hits or runs, and struck out one for the save (1). (g/f:0-1)

Primera Hora Post Game

 

Johnny Hernandez (Former Palm Beach-Mayaguez) started in right field and batted second.  3-for-6 with one double, one RBI, two runs, and one strikeout.

Antonio DeJesus (Springfield-Mayaguez) entered in the eighth as a pinch runner and took over left field.

Mike Maroth (Former St. Louis-Mayaguez) entered in the eighth and pitched one inning.  He allowed one hit, one earned run, one walk, and threw one wild pitch. (g/f:0-3)

 

Raul Gonzalez (Former Memphis-Ponce) started in left field and batted fifth.  1-for-3 with one walk.

ESPN's Jorge Arangure posted on his twitter that Cuban defector Aroldis Chapman's price could fall below $20 million but still might wind up higher than what Stephen Strasburg (Nationals) signed for.  ESPN Deportes' Enrique Rojas reports that the Philadelphia Phillies may have some interest in the 21-year old lefty.
