Carlos Guillen (Tigers) has said he would like to play for Magallanes in the round robin tournament and Fernando Nieve (Mets) is expected to make his final appearance on Saturday: Comandante del Biesbol

Ricardo Rodriguez (Former Memphis-Escogido) entered in the sixth and pitched to three batters.  He allowed one hit, three runs (one earned), and two walks (one intentional) for the blown save (1).  (ir-s;2-2)

 

Timo Perez (Former St. Louis-Licey) started in left field and batted sixth.  2-for-3 with one intentional walk.

Ron Belliard (Former St. Louis-Licey) started at third base and batted seventh.  0-for-3 with one RBI, one run, and one walk.

Oneli Perez (Memphis Free Agent-Licey) entered in the eighth and pitched two innings.  He allowed three hits, no runs, and struck out two for the save (4).  (g/f:2-2)(ir-s:2-1)

 

Licey beat Escogido 7-5

Matt Pagnozzi (Memphis-Azucareros) started at catcher and batted eighth.  1-for-3 with one double, one run, one walk, two strikeouts, allowed one stolen base, and threw out one runner.

 

Scott Spiezio (Former St. Louis-Gigantes) started as designated hitter and batted seventh.  0-for-4 with three strikeouts.

Former New York Yankees scout Carlos Rios was awarded $700,000 in damages in a Dominican court after he was fired for skimming allegations: ESPN

 

Wagner Mateo represented the Dominican Republic in the 2010 International High School Power Showcase Home Run Derby.  Baseball America's Jim Callis reports that Mateo did not connect for one home run in the event and says there is no news on any potential suitors.
