Antonio DeJesus (Springfield-Mayaguez) entered in the tenth as a pinch runner and took over in right field, batting sixth.  Scored one run.

Mike Maroth (Former St. Louis-Mayaguez) started and pitched 4.1 innings.  He allowed seven hits, three earned runs, four walks (one intentional), and struck out three. (g/f:6-4)

MLB has voided the contract signed between the San Francisco Giants and Dominican third baseman Duanel Jones: Baseball America


Cuban defectors Yuniesky Maya, Sergio Espinoza, Reinier Roibal, Jorge Padron, Adeiny Echevarria, and Reinier Orosco worked out for roughly 20 teams in the Dominican this last week: Terreno de Pelota


The Cuban showcase was hosted at the Cubs Dominican Academy, with even the new Cubs owner in attendance.  One scout said that Maya could be a team's #4 or #5 starter right now: Terreno de Pelota
