Mexican Pacific League Championship

 

Fernando Salas (Memphis-Hermosillo) entered in the seventh and pitched 1.2 innings.  He allowed two hits, one earned run, one walk, and struck out one for the losing decision (0-1).  (g/f:2-1)

Venezuelan League Championship

 

Julio Manon (Former Johnson City-Caracas) entered in the seventh and pitched one inning.  He allowed no hits or runs for the hold (1). (p-s:7-6)(g/f:1-2)

Orber Moreno (Former Memphis-Caracas) entered in the eighth and pitched one inning.  He allowed no hits or runs, and one walk for the hold (2). (p-s:22-12)(g/f:0-3)

Wednesday's Results:

 

Adron Chambers (Palm Beach-Barranquilla) started in left field and batted leadoff.  1-for-4 with one RBI, one walk, and one strikeout.

Donovan Solano (Memphis-Barranquilla) started at shortstop and batted second.  2-for-5 with one double, one run, and one strikeout.

Chris Swauger (Palm Beach-Barranquilla) started at first base and batted fifth.  1-for-4 with one run and one walk.

Mark Shorey (Memphis-Barranquilla) started in right field and batted seventh.  1-for-2 with one double, one RBI, one walk, and one hit by pitch.

 

Javier Colina (Former Memphis-Monteria) started at shortstop and batted third.  2-for-3 with one double, two RBIs, one run, and one hit by pitch.

 

Monteria beat Barranquilla 5-4

 

Thursday's Results:

 

Chambers started in left field and batted leadoff.  0-for-5 with one run and one strikeout.

Solano started at shortstop and batted second.  1-for-3 with one walk, one sacrifice, and two strikeouts.

Swauger started at first base and batted fifth.  1-for-4 at the plate.

Shorey started in right field and batted seventh.  0-for-3 with one RBI and one walk.

 

Colina started at shortstop and batted third.  0-for-4 with one strikeout.

 

Monteria beat Barranquilla 3-2

Puerto Rican League Championship

 

Antonio DeJesus (Springfield-Mayaguez) entered in the 10th as a pinch runner and took over right field, batting fifth.  1-for-1 with one RBI and one run.

Caribbean Series

 

Escogido announced that they will bring along a total of 11 reinforcements and import players, one of which is Julio Manon (Former Johnson City-Azucararos/Caracas).  The team will also present an award to Abraham Nunez (Former St. Louis): Listin Diario

International Market Place

 

The MLB handed Dominican third baseman Duanel Jones a 50-game suspension.  Jones had his contract voided after signing with the San Francisco Giants and can still sign with any team but must first serve the suspension: Baseball America

 

An agent told ESPN's Jorge Arangure that Cuban 1B-OF Jose Julio Ruiz has been unblocked and is able to sign with MLB teams.  Agent also said he is setting up workouts as we speak and most likely going to sign for a multi-million dollar bonus.

 

The agent also told Arangure that Adalberto Ibarra, Israel Soto, Yadil Mujica, and Luis Fonseca are in the Dominican and have had free agent papers and etc. filed in their behalves.

 

The Oakland Athletics signed middle infielder Rodolfo Penalo, who had been tearing up the Dominican Prospect League.
