Caribbean Series


Armando Rios (Former Memphis-Mayaguez) started in right field and moved to first base, batting third.  2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs, one walk, and two stolen bases.

Pete Parise (Memphis-Mayaguez) entered in the sixth and pitched two innings.  He allowed two hits, no runs, and struck out three. (p-s:29-20)(g/f:1-2)


Fernando Salas (Memphis-Hermosillo) entered in the eighth and pitched one inning.  He allowed no hits or runs, and struck out one.  (p-s:8-7)(g/f:2-0)

Pablo Ozuna (Former Peoria-Escogido) started at second base and batted ninth.  0-for-4 and assisted in one double play.

The Caribbean Confederation will focus more on younger players rather than the veterans, like they did in the past.  Pablo Ozuna (Former Peoria-Escogido), Armando Rios (Former Memphis-Mayaguez), and Pete Parise (Memphis-Mayaguez) were all named to the 2010 Caribbean Series All-Tournament Team: MLB Official Site


The Caribbean Confederation president Juan Francisco Puello said that the Colombian League stadiums are still not up to par and need work before being considered for the Caribbean Series: Caribbean Series Official Site

Luis Polonia (Aguilas) has decided to retire from baseball and work with the younger players in the Dominincan Baseball Academies:  Lisitin Diario


Caracas will have a meeting during MLB spring training to decide on whether or not to keep the entire coaching staff on board: El Universal


Mayaguez, Puerto Rico will host the 2011 Caribbean Series.
