The system went 0-4 on Sunday though Aaron Luna had a good day at the plate for Springfield.

Former Cardinal Clayton Mortensen, sent to Oakland in the Matt Holliday trade, picked up the win over his ex-teammates. Reliever Pete Parise, just off the disabled list, yielded a pinch-hit grand slam in the seventh that finished off the Redbirds. Outfielder Mark Shorey pitched the final inning in the series-ender. Memphis pitchers issued 10 walks and allowed 16 hits.

The Cardinals lost their third straight in Tulsa. The game was decided in the first two innings as the Drillers drilled Springfield starter Gary Daley for eight runs. Aaron Luna paced the Cardinals offense, reaching base three times and hitting a two-run home run.
