Cardinals Minor League Notebook: 06/01/10

Evan MacLane gets easy fly balls, Daniel Descalso drives in four as Memphis gets a shutout. Curt Smith drives in two in Springfield's win. Quad Cities scores six in seventh, Scott Schneider tosses five hitless for third straight victory. VSL Cardinals can't rebound from errors in loss.

We will start today's report with a few MLB Draft tidbits.

The Cardinals have interest in San Gorgonio (CA) High School's senior shortstop/pitcher Adam Quintana.

 

An anonymous Cardinals scout had some good things to say about University of California, Santa Barbara's junior left-hander Mario Hollands.

Tyler Greene 1-for-5 with one double, two RBIs, and two runs.

Daniel Descalso 3-for-4 with one double, two home runs, four RBIs, four runs, and one walk.

Joe Mather 2-for-5 with one double, one two-out RBI, one run, and one strikeout.

Amaury Cazana 2-for-4 with one home run, two two-out RBIs, one run, one walk, one strikeout, and one outfield assist.

Ruben Gotay 1-for-3 with one walk and one hit by pitch.

Donovan Solano 1-for-5 with two two-out RBIs.

Matt Pagnozzi 2-for-3 with one run, one walk, and one passed ball.

Pete Parise entered in the eighth and pitched two innings.  He allowed three hits, no runs, one walk, and struck two out. (p-s:29-18)(g/f:1-3)

Pete Kozma 1-for-3 with one double, one RBI, one walk, one strikeout, and assisted in four double plays.
