Palm Beach Cardinals Notebook 2010: Week 9

Palm Beach outfielder Chris Swauger has been on a tear since returning from the disabled list.

The Palm Beach Cardinals got the week started off on the right foot with two straight victories. To close out its road trip, the team took a tight game with Clearwater, 4-3. The Cardinals returned home and powered past Daytona 9-5.

But the Cubs would get their revenge with three straight victories over the home team. Daytona outscored Palm Beach 24-4 during the remainder of the series.

The team then split a double header with Charlotte, picking up a 3-0 victory in game one before falling in the night cap by a run, 3-2. To close out the week, Charlotte picked up another victory by the same score, 3-2.

During the week, Xavier Scruggs was named FSL Player of the Week for the period of May 31-June 6. The former UNLV Rebel batted .368 with four home runs and eight RBIs during the week.
