Bandits Playoff Mgr. Johnny Rodriguez Speaks

Exclusive interview with Quad Cities River Bandits manager Johnny Rodriguez. His club clinched a post-season spot Saturday night.

In his first season at the helm of the Quad Cities River Bandits, manager Johnny Rodriguez has led his team to 40 victories through Saturday. In doing so, the Bandits have clinched their first playoff berth* since 2007.

In this extensive interview, recorded with one win remaining to secure their post-season spot, Rodriguez discussed a variety of subjects concerning his team and players.


* The first and second place teams in the first half of both the Western and Eastern Division of the Midwest League are awarded a spot in the postseason playoffs, beginning on Wednesday, September 8. The River Bandits have chosen to host games two and three in the first round. The Bandits will play the Western Division second half champion beginning on the road on Wednesday, September 8. The next two games will be played at Modern Woodmen Park on Thursday, September 9 and Friday, September 10.

Joining the River Bandits in the post-season are the Cedar Rapids Kernels from the Western Division and the Great Lakes Loons and Lake County Captains from the Eastern Division.
