Cardinals Minor League Notebook: 07/04/10

The Cardinals farm system went 4-5 as Allen Craig, Donovan Solano, Andrew Brown, Jose Garcia, Thomas Eager, Colt Sedbrook, Kevin Thomas, Trey Hearne, Ramon Delgado, Ivan Castro, Justin Edwards, Angel DeJesus, Deimer Bier, Roberto Canache, and Carlos Matias starred on Saturday.

Individual Highlights:

Jim Rapoport 3-for-5 and one throwing error.

Ruben Gotay 2-for-3 with two runs, two walks, grounded into one double play, and one throwing error.

Allen Craig 2-for-5 with one home run, three two-out RBIs, one run, and one strikeout.

Donovan Solano 1-for-4 with one home run, two two-out RBIs, and one run.

Kevin Howard 2-for-4 with one double and one run.

Mark Shorey 1-for-1 with one RBI and one run.

Notes:

Redbirds athletic trainer Chris Conroy was one of 23 people to become a citizen of the Untied States on Saturday, at AutoZone Park.  Congratulations to Chris from The Cardinal Nation.

 

John Mozeliak told the Post-Dispatch they are planning to groom left-handed pitcher Renyel Pinto into a long reliever and possibly a spot starter.
