Cardinals Prospect Interview: Brandon Dickson

The Memphis' starter answers our questions during this week's Triple-A All-Star festivities.

Memphis right-handed starting pitcher Brandon Dickson has enjoyed a strong Triple-A debut season, earning a berth representing the Pacific Coast League in the Triple-A All-Star Game ahead of more celebrated rotation mates Lance Lynn, P.J. Walters and Evan MacLane.

At the time of his selection, Dickson ranked sixth in the PCL with a 2.94 ERA and an 8-4 record. The Alabama-native leads the Redbirds in wins, ERA and quality starts. He was 3-1, 2.03 in June, earning the organization's Pitcher of the Month Award. Since then, he is 1-1 with a 4.09 ERA in two July outings with his next start scheduled on Sunday, July 18 at New Orleans.

The first-year Redbird spent the entire 2009 season with Double-A Springfield and was selected to the 2007 Midwest League All-Star Game when with Single-A Quad Cities.

In the All-Star Game, held Wednesday in Lehigh Valley, PA, Dickson pitched one inning. He allowed a leadoff single before collecting three outs, including one strikeout. The PCL fell to the International League by a 2-1 score.

We caught up with Brandon before the game for a question and answer session.
