Cardinals Minor League Notebook: 08/10/10

The Cardinals farm system went 6-2 on Monday as Nick Stavinoha, Bryan Anderson, Lance Lynn, Steven Hill, Arquimedes Nieto, Luis Mateo, Ted Obregon, Oscar Taveras, Aidan Lucas, Luis Pimentel, Jose Pasen, Andres Beras, and Juan Bautista starred. Plus bonus minor league notes.

MLB Draft

 

First round supplemental pick (50th overall) Tyrell Jenkins told KLTV that he will be signing with St. Louis and will join the Johnson City Cardinals in the next week.

 

19th round (589th overall) selection Chad Oberacker told the Erie Times he expects to return to Tennessee Tech next season.  He said he has been in talks with the Cardinals but has not been overwhelmed by the organization's offers.

 

In the Cape Cod League, Justin Wright (47th round selection-Virginia Tech) made seven appearances (five starts and one game finish) posting a 1-2 record and 4.13 ERA.  He allowed 29 hits, 17 runs (13 earned), six home runs, five walks, threw one wild pitch, and struck out 32 over 28.1 innings. Hyannis Harbor Hawks finished the season 14-30 and in last place in the Western Division.
