Cardinals Minor League Notebook: 08/17/10

Quad Cities' Shelby Miller carried a perfect game into the sixth and fanned a career-high 11. The Memphis bullpen added nine perfect innings of their own on a 4-2 Monday across the Cardinals system.

Amaury Cazana ended the almost-five hour marathon with a walk off home run. It was his fourth hit of the game. Bryan Anderson's two-run jack in the eighth inning propelled the game into extra innings. The Memphis bullpen tossed a perfect nine innings at one stretch in a most impressive performance. After Adron Chambers departed after being hit on the head, pitcher Brandon Dickson pinch ran and played the final seven innings in right field. Joe Mather's six strikeouts set a undesired team record.

The Pirates never trailed and put away a close game with seven runs from the sixth inning on as starter Richard Castillo tired. The Cardinals offense managed just six singles and a double and the defense allowed two unearned runs.
