Already assured of a playoff berth due to a strong first half, the Quad Cities River Bandits have continued to win in the second, with a 31-18 record and a three-game lead.
With under three weeks to go in the regular season, the parent St. Louis Cardinals made a number of roster changes on Wednesday, six to be exact. They include:
Swinson, 20, went onto the DL for a second time this season on July 7. The latest problem was a hamstring injury. The left-handed hitter began a rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast Cardinals on August 7, where he went 0-for-15. He also walked three times, was 2-for-3 in stolen base attempts and scored a run.
Ahmady hit the Bandits' DL on
August 7 due to a quad strain. The 22-year-old has been a very productive bat in
his first 22 Midwest League games with a .361/.477/.514 line and 14 RBI in 72
at-bats. Ahmady was promoted from
