Hill returns to Chicago

The Chicago Cubs acquired Koyie Hill from the Cincinnati Reds organization, sending cash considerations in return. Hill will help secure the Cubs' depth at catcher after a number of injuries.

Koyie Hill is a Cub again. The 33-year-old catcher was acquired from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for cash considerations. This move came in lieu of injuries to Geovany Soto, Steve Clevenger and Wellington Castillo.

Hill returns to the Cubs after being a part of the organization for part of the past five seasons. He joined the Reds organization this season, and posted a .195 batting average thus far. Hill has hit .208 with seven home runs and 63 RBI during his Cubs career.

With Kerry Wood's retirement, no move was needed to keep the Cubs' 40-man roster in tact.
