Kane County and Boise made a four-payer swap as the Cougars sent RHP Juan Paniagua and OF Kevin Encarnacion west and RHP Tyler Skulina and OF Jose Dore were promoted….. Skulina, 21, the 4th-round pick from Kent State. Becomes the first 2013 pitcher selected to reach a full-season squad. The right-hander has earned the promotion allowing two earned runs on nine hits and three walks in 15 IP. Armed with a fastball consistently in the mid-90s, Skulina, like all the 2013 draft pitchers, is under the organization's three-inning limit. Last year, no pitcher the Cubs selected in the 2012 draft reached the MWL until the final week of the season when RHP Stephen Perakslis pitched for Peoria on the final day…...Dore, 21, was Padres 8th round 2010 pick but received $450,000 instead of going to Florida State. He missed most of 2012 with an injury and was traded to the Cubs for a PTBNL or cash in March and spent the spring in Mesa heading to Boise in June. In 29 games at Boise, Dore hit .200/.284/.356 with 2HR and 9 RBI. Dore was drafted by the Padres when Jed Hoyer and Jason McLeod were members of the Padres front office…...Paniagua, 23, couldn't throw strikes in the MWL issuing 12 free passes in 7.2 innings, in his three starts. The rest of his numbers were equally unimpressive—8.22 ERA , 2.87 WHIP, .345. This season is not what the Cubs or the Dominican had in mind as he was relegated to the DSL over a visa issue and didn't make it the the states until July. Considered by many as one of the Cubs top pitching prospects entering 2013, Paniagua hopefully gets on track at Boise and finds some success to salvage part of the year…...Encarnacion, 21, played 13 games at Boise before being promoted to Kane County and was impressive in his MWL debut hitting in his first five games (8-20) but is 5-40 since…...Boise placed Shawon Dunston on the 7-day DL (still recovering from collision with David Bote) and activated C Rony Rodriguez from the DL.
