Arizona Fall League
It was a rough outing for Dallas Beeler as the right-hander was charged with seven unearned runs in 2.2 IP. Beeler allowed a pair of infield singles, a bloop hit down the left field line, and a Baltimore over the third baseman's head in the second. Throw in a walk, and two Mesa errors and Salt River scored seven times. Beeler walked two and fanned one in his 67-pitch outing. Albert Almora (.283) singled in the first inning but was hitless in his final three at-bats in Mesa's 8-0 loss. Jorge Soler (.266) went 0-3.
Venezuelan Winter League
Yoanner Negrin (3-1 4.03 ERA) has his toughest outing of the VWL as seven of the 15 hitters he faced reached base in Caracas' 9-5 loss to Caribes. The right-hander allowed five runs on five hits and two walks, and didn't make it out of the third inning. He surrendered a two-run homer in the second and three more runs in the third, after loading the bases. Negrin threw 55 pitches, 32 for strikes. Loiger Padron (1-0 2.45 ERA) worked a scoreless inning for Caracas, allowing a hit with two strikeouts.
Dominican Winter League
Arismendy Alcantara smacked his first DWL homer helping Licey to a 7-3 12-inning win over Toros. Alcantara had a quality plate appearance in the second, fouling off a 3-2 pitch, before drawing a walk. The second baseman dropped a routine infield fly ball in the third but made up for the blunder in his next at-bat with a line drive solo homer over the right field wall. He grounded out to second in the 7th, struck out in the 9th, and was lifted for a pinch hitter in the 12th. Julio Borbon added a RBI double in Licey's four-run 12 inning. He pinch-hit with the bases loaded with two outs in the 6th but flied out to left. He stayed in the game and played right field ending 1-4 with a RBI. Toros LHP Jeffry Antigua (0-0 5.79) got the final out in the top of the 12th.
Mexican Pacific Winter League
Christian Villanueva was 0-4 with a pair of strikeouts in Obregon's 10-2 loss to Guasave.
Marcus Hatley allowed a three-run homer in the bottom of the 8th but Culiacan held on for the 5-4 win over Los Mochis. Hatley (0-1 2.89) recorded two outs, one on strikes.
Puerto Rican Winter League
Cubs newly acquired relief pitcher Daniel Bard made his debut on Tuesday for Caguas but failed to retire a batter and was charged with two runs. Of the four hitters he faced, he walked one and hit the other three before being removed.
SS Edwin Maysonet (.125) went 0-2 before being lifted for a pinch hitter in Santurce's 8-4 loss to Caguas.
