Nov. 21—RHP Yoanner Negrin (3-3 3.86 ERA) made his ninth start and surrendered seven hits and walked two in five innings, leading to a pair of runs, one unearned. The right-hander from Cuba recorded one strikeout, throwing 90 pitches, 56 for strikes. Negrin didn't figure in the decision in Caracas‘ 6-4 win over La Guaria in 10 innings. Caracas' Hector Rondon worked a scoreless inning, allowing a single to the four hitters he faced.
Luis Valbuena was 0-4 with a RBI and a run in Lara's 7-1 win over Magallanes. He also walked and struckout.
Yeiper Castillo (2-1 4.70 ERA) got Zulia out of the 4th inning stranding two inherited runners but Aragua scored 4 runs off the right-hander in the fifth as he only got one out before leaving. Two singles, a walk and a bases clearing double ended Castillo's night. Castillo is technically a free agent and hasn't been signed by a team. I'll keep reporting his game results until he signs. Castillo started 2013 in Daytona and was promoted to AA Tennessee, throwing 88.2 IP with 80 K and a combined 3.35 ERA in 29 games, including 10 starts.
