Cubs prospects in auto accident
Three Cubs prospects were taken to the hospital following an auto accident Monday in the Dominican Republic but none of the players were hurt. Shortstop Frandy Delarosa, along with pitchers Jefferson Mejia and Jose Zapata were not seriously hurt in the mishap and were held overnight for observations. Delarosa, 17, was a July 2 signee by the Cubs in 2012 and made his pro debut this year in the Dominican Summer League. Mejia, 18, inked a deal this July with Chicago and made his pro debut in the DSL. Zapata, 20, signed in October of 2012 and just completed his first season. According to reports, Delarosa was driving the vehicle and by the looks of the picture, all three are lucky they weren't seriously injured. Photo of accident
