Antigua, Cervenka re-sign with CubsMinor league left-handed reliever Jeffry Antigua and Hunter Cervenka were signed to minor league deals by the Cubs, according to Baseball America. Antigua, 24, spent the season between Tennessee and Iowa throwing 55.1 innings with a 3.54 ERA. Cervenka, 24, appeared in 48 games with AA Tennessee and went 4-4 with a 3.79 ERA. He fanned 65 in 61.2 innings and was named a Southern League mid-season all-star. The signing give the Cubs left-handed depth in the bullpen in AAA.

C.J. Edwards got the start on Wednesday and lasted two innings after throwing 46 pitches, 27 for strikes. The String Bean Slinger fanned four and allowed a run on two hits and two walks. According to reports, Edwards is on a 50-pitch/3-inning limit while in the AFL.......Bijan Rademacher got the start as a member of the taxi squad and continues to lead all Cubs prospects in the AFL with a .344 average. Rademacher went 1-for-2 with a pair of sacrifice flies. He also walked and scored.......1B Daniel Vogelbach (.246) had two singles, a walk and scored once...Daniel Lockhart played in his second game, going 0-for-3 with a walk and a RBI as the team’s DH.

C Willson Contreras (.259) went 0-for-4 in Aragua’s 11-4 win.
Dominican Winter League
Manny Ramirez homered in his first at-bat, his second long ball of the DWL, to help Aguilas to a 2-1 win. He finished 1-4 and is hitting .244 in 41 at-bats.
Mexican Pacific Winter League
Christian Villanueva (.238) saw action in both ends of Obregon’s DH split with Culiacan. In the opener, Christian Villanueva pinch hit in the sixth (walk) and played third for an inning. He started the second game at third and went 1-2 with a walk in three plate appearances. Villanueva left the game in the sixth for a pinch-runner.
