Nov. 8—With a chance to pull to within 1.5 games of first-place Salt River (16-9), Mesa fell to Surprise 11-4. RF Bijan Rademacher (.343) went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Rademacher threw out two runners, including one at home, and also stole his 4th base........Daniel Lockhart pinch ran in the 6th, stole a base, scored, and played the rest of the game at shortstop going 0-1.
Venezuelan Winter League
Nov. 9—Willson Contreras (.273) slugged a three-run homer to help Aragua to a 8-5 win over Margarita. The 22-year-old added a single and scored twice......Joseph Ortiz gave up a single and recorded a fly out in one-third of an inning during La Guaria’s 6-0 win over Caracas.....Yeiper Castillo (1-1, 1.80 ERA, 30 IP) got the start for Zulia, tossing three innings of shutout ball, despite allowing two hits and issuing a pair of free passes in the 4-3 loss to Caribes.
Nov. 8—Loiger Padron walked the only hitter he faced, forcing in a run, in Caracas’ 13-7 win over La Guaira.......Willson Contreras went 0-2 in Aragua’s 6-4 win over Lara.
Dominican Winter League
Nov. 9—Manny Ramirez (.260) hit his third homer, a two-run shot in the third, in Aguilas 7-5 win over Licey. Ramirez also singled and scored......Escogido’s Carlos Pimentel got the win in relief in the 8-7 victory over Toros. The right-hander allowed a walk and a hit in 1.1 scoreless frames. Alberto Cabrera earned his third hold for Toros with 1.1 shutout innings......Estrellas’ Junior Lake was 0-3 in the 5-4 loss to Gigantes. He did walk twice and is 0-for-last-10.
Nov. 8—Junior Lake (.236) went 0-3 in Estrellas’ 8-1 loss to Licey. Rafael Dolis (0-0, 0.00 ERA, 4G, 3 IP) got the final two outs for Estrellas. Marco Hernandez (.316) pinch hit but didn’t reach base for the Tigers.......Former Cub Brooks Raley (0-3, 3.24 ERA) got the start for Gigantes and took the loss (3-2 vs. Toros), allowing three runs on six hits and three walks in five innings.....Manny Ramirez was 0-3 with a walk in Aguilas’ 7-0 win over Escogido.

Nov. 9—Christian Villanueva (.273) went 1-for-3 with a single and a RBI sacrifice fly in Obregon’s 4-1 win.
Nov. 8—Villanueva had two hits, including a double, in three at-bats during Obregon’s 3-2 loss to Hermosillo.
