Cubs Dec. 6-7 Notebook

Here’s a look the weekend’s winter league action and all’s calm before the start of the winter meetings.

Cubs News and Rumors
It was eerily quiet weekend on the Cubs rumor front. Cubs are just getting warmed up as I expect them to add two starting pitchers and a backup catcher in the next few weeks. I would be surprised if they won the bidding war for Lester but look for them to add a couple of starting pitchers to short-term deals. With the stockpile of minor leaguers I wouldn’t be surprised if they pulled off a blockbuster trade, and I fully expect one in the next 13 months. Somebody is going to give the Cubs an offer they can’t refuse.
