Javier Baez hit his first homer in the Puerto Rican Winter League and added a double to help Santurce to a 4-2 win over San Juan.

Puerto Rican Winter League
Javier Baez launched his first homer in the Puerto Rican Winter League with a two-run blast over the left field wall in Santurce’s 4-2 in over San Juan. Playing second and batting third, Baez (.364/.385/.727) also double and fanned twice. Baez faced a pair of former Tennessee teammates in the win. CF John Andreoli (.216) and 3B Jonathan Mota (.218) were both 0-for-3 for San Juan.

Venezuelan Winter League
Luis Valbuena delivered a RBI single in his first at-bat and left the game in the third inning after making a relay throw. Lara fell 8-6 to Buddy Bailey’s La Guaira squad.....C Willson Contreras went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts in Aragua’s 7-0 loss to Magallanes.

Dominican Winter League
Junior Lake had two singles, swiped two bases, walked once and scored once in Estrellas’ 10-3 win. Lake continues to keep his OBP above .400 and has 27 BB, 20 SB and 26 R in 38 games..........Manny Ramirez doubled home a pair of runs as Aguilas defeated Licey 7-5. Ramirez is hitting .279 and has knocked in 24 runs with 6 HR in 37 games. Licey’s Arismendy Alcantara went 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts.

Mexican Pacific Winter League
Christian Villanueva (.238/.324/.437) knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly and ended the game 0-for-2 with a walk and strikeout as Obregon fell to Mexicali 4-3. Splitting time between third and left, Villanueva has knocked in 18 runs in 38 games.
