Pacific Coast League—AAA—Iowa 6, New Orleans (Marlins) 4
Taylor Teagarden knocked in four runs and Donn Roach threw six solid innings as Iowa beat New Orleans.
Hitting Recap: In his second game since coming off the DL, C Taylor Teagarden slugged a two-run homer and added two more RBI with a double. In his first game since being sent to Iowa, OF Matt Szczur went 3-for-4 and plated a run. SS Chris Valaika (.244) had three hits, Junior Lake (.237) singled home a run and 3B Christian Villanueva (.214) was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Pitching Chart: RHP Donn Roach (1-0, 2.60 ERA) tossed six solid innings, allowing a run on five hits and two walks He fanned three and threw 85 pitches, 59 for strikes. Armando Rivero continues to struggle with his command as the right-hander allowed a run on two walks in the 7th. He’s allowed 10 base runners in his first three innings, five appearances......Blake Cooper earned his second save despite allowing two runs in the 9th.

Southern League—AA—Jackson (Mariners) 5, Tennessee 3
Jackson (4-6) scored four times in their final two at-bats as the Generals rallied to beat Tennessee (6-5)
Hitting Recap: Smokies out-hit Jackson 10-4 but stranded nine runners. LF Albert Almora (.263) went 1-for-4 and knocked in a pair....C Kyle Schwarber (.261) was 2-for-5 and drove home a run.....1B Daniel Vogelbach (.436) had a double in four trips while Pin-Chieh Chen had a pair of hits, including a triple.
Pitching Chart:Corey Black continues to make his push to AAA as the right-hander only surrendered an unearned run in six innings. Black threw 84 pitches, 53 for strikes, and allowed two hits, two walks, and fanned four to lower his ERA to 1.80.....It was a tough night for Stephen Perakslis who took the loss, allowing four runs in two innings. The right-hander got in trouble with three walks and the Generals made him pay as all three came around to score.

Carolina League—High A—Myrtle Beach 7, Salem (Red Sox) 4
Myrtle Beach (8-3) rallied for the second straight night to down Salem (4-7)
Hitting recap: Benjamin Carhart paced the offense with his second homer and the catcher also walked twice and scored a pair. DH Billy McKinney stayed hot with a pair of singles and a RBI. SS Carlos Penalver (.259) went 2-for-3 and added a sac fly. Pelicans scored four times in the 7th with the aid of two Salem errors and a pair of wild pitches.
Pitching chart: Jen-Ho Tseng survived a rough first inning as the Red Sox opened the game with four straight hits, three going for extra bases, and two runs. He settled down and only allowed two hits the rest of the night before departing with aline of 4.1 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3K.....Michael Heesch allowed a pair of runs in his inning of relief while James Pugliese got the win, tossing 2.2 frames of shutout ball with a pair of punchouts.....Just promoted from South Bend, Jasvir Rakkar earned his first save with a scoreless ninth.

Midwest League—Low A—Lake County (Indians) 5, South Bend 2
The bullpen woes continued for South Bend (5-8) as Lake County (6-7) scored four runs over the final three innings to take the series opener.
Hitting recap: C Justin Marra (.095) had the big blast of the game for the Cubs, a solo homer in the third, his first of the season. Marra also walked and scored on Charcer Burks’ RBI single, one of two hits for the leadoff man.
Pitching chart: Jake Stinnett made his third start and allowed an unearned run over five innings despite walking five. He only yielded a pair of hits and fanned four.......Jordan Minch didn’t allow a hit but two walks led to a run in his two innings of relief....Francisco Carrillo (0-4, 8.59 ERA) gave up three hits, two walks, and three runs as he lost for the fourth time.
