In a national televised game, Iowa (25-24) scored seven runs in the 7th to beat El Paso (25-25).
Hitting Recap: Iowa took advantage of four walks and RF Jonathan Mota (.284) delivered a bases-loaded triple, scoring seven times in the 7th inning. Adorn Chambers (.245) had two hits in the frame, including a bunt single and a RBI single; and 2B Javier Baez (.306) and Christian Villanueva (.272) also knocked in runs. Baez had three hits, including a RBI double in the first, while Matt Szczur (.337), Villanueva, Taylor Teagarden (.289) and Mota all had two hits. I-Cubs had 15 hits and drew seven walks.
Pitching Chart: Felipe Paulino allowed the first three hitters he faced reach, one scoring but settled down and threw his best game since signing with Chicago. The right-hander, who fastball was in the low 90s, went four innings and only gave up the one run. He threw 62 pitches, 38 for strikes, and had a game score of 49.....Yoanner Negrin (1-0, 3.42 ERA) earned his first win of the season, despite allowing two runs in two innings of relief. Yoervis Medina worked around a leadoff walk in a scoreless 7th and Gonzalez Germen fanned the side in the 8th but gave up a run on three hits and a walk. Brian Schlitter worked a 1-2-3 ninth.
I-Cubs Notes: Carlos Pimentel (2-3, 4.69 ERA) gets the start on Monday night in the series finale.
Southern League—AA— Mobile (D-Backs) 5, Tennessee 1
Tennessee (27-23) was held to one run as Mobile (24-25) won the final game of the series.
Hitting Recap: Smokies only run of the game came in the second on a sacrifice bunt by LF Jacob Hannemann, scoring Willson Contreras (315), who led off the frame with a single. Kyle Schwarber (.327) went 2-for-4 and Billy McKinney (.298) had two hits in three trips to plate.
Pitching Chart: Ivan Pineyro (4-3, 3.36 ERA) gave up four runs on two walks and nine hits, one a solo homer. The right-hander threw 70 pitches, 46 for strikes, and had a game score of 29. Andres Santiago allowed a run over four innings and Tyler Ihrig tossed a scoreless 9th.

Carolina League—High A—Myrtle Beach 7, Potomac (Nationals) 2
Myrtle Beach (31-16) slugged three homers to beat Potomac (21-29) for the second straight game and set a franchise record with a 21-7 record in May.
Hitting Recap: Daniel Lockhart (2), Jacob Rogers (6) and Jeimer Candelario (4) all homered as the Pelicans collected 11 hits. Lockhart (.216) his a solo shot and finished 1-for-3 with a walk while Rogers (.247) went 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Candelario (.267) homered for the second straight game, a two-run blast, and also added a sac fly. LF Chesny Young (.362) went 3-for-5 with two runs and threw a runner out at the plate, his first career outfield assist. Kevin Brown (.260) was 1-for-5 and gave the Pelicans a 2-0 lead with a two-run single in the second.
Pitching Chart: Tyler Skulina (2-3, 4.07 ERA) went a season-high six innings for the fourth time, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks. The Kent State product fanned three and both runs scored on a homer in the second......Fernando Cruz was impressive in his Pelicans’ debut, tossing three shutout innings with three strikeouts for his first save.

Midwest League—Low A—Game 1— Lake County (Indians) 3, South Bend 0—Suspended—3rd inning; Game 2— South Bend @ Lake County—Canceled
The game was suspended due to rain after three innings with Lake County leading 3-0. It will be completed on Monday and the regularly scheduled game will be played. The second game of the DH will not be made up. Erick Leal may pitch the completion of the suspended game and Zach Hedges is expected to pitch the second game.
Hitting Recap: Zero offense as all nine South Bend hitters were retired before the game was called.
